Lucia Gorostegui (1986, Santander) originally earned her degree in Physical Sciences and worked in the world of engineering. However, she decided to dedicate herself to her true vocation: Photography. This allows her to combine her technical depth and artistic dimension. She converts her passion into a means of expression and a way of life. Her work constitutes an investigation of photography as an object and as a language. The plasticity, the pictorial, the staged against the recorded, and the attentional excursion that the creative process supposes, are the concepts conveyed in her work. She has participated in numerous collective and individual exhibitions in Spain and Switzerland, and combines this activity with commissions for architecture studios and teaching at the EFTI school.
Her work combines attention to the composition of minimalism, with a marked predilection for the process, which reveals an investigation of photography as a language and as an object.
In the Essence series (Esenciales), the photographic exploration of Casa Ola (Patricia Bustos Studio) results in emotions such as the impermanent, the pictorial, and the staged against the recorded: concepts that are often conveyed in her work.
