FORMA Design Fair Madrid
04.03.26 - 08.03.26
GÄRNA Gallery participated in the first edition of FORMA. Design Fair Madrid, a new fair dedicated to contemporary design and to the dialogue between art, space, and object. The event took place from March 4 to 8 at Matadero Madrid as part of the wider Madrid Design Festival, bringing together galleries, designers, and artists whose practices expand the boundaries between art and design.
For this inaugural edition, the gallery presented a selection of works by Verónica Mar and Fernando de Ana, two artists whose practices explore the relationship between materiality, texture, and perception. Their works created a subtle dialogue between painting, surface, and spatial presence, generating an intimate atmosphere within the context of the fair.
Verónica Mar presented a series of pieces that move between sculpture and furniture. Inspired by nature, her works combine organic forms with noble materials such as wood and marble. While maintaining a functional dimension, these objects transcend utility to become sculptural presences that evoke harmony, balance, and a deep connection with natural forms.
Fernando de Ana continued the development of his ongoing Piel de Aguja series, introducing new combinations of color and form while deepening his investigation into perception. Through layered surfaces and carefully constructed compositions, the works explore the visual effects produced by light and reflection, inviting the viewer into a dynamic and sensorial experience of the painted surface.
