ALTERCHROME

In ALTERCHROME, Santiago Picatoste explores a territory where painting becomes an experience of purity and balance. His work delves into a chromatic language that does not seek to dazzle through excess, but rather to place color in its rightful place: as an autonomous force, as a principle capable of sustaining beauty and thought simultaneously.

The artist conceives each piece as a state that demands stillness. In contrast to a world that accelerates and dissolves into immediate images, his painting proposes another rhythm: an expanded time, where the gaze finds refuge in the harmony between gesture, presence, matter, and color.

In this exhibition, color is neither ornament nor artifice. It is living matter—a vibration that shapes a space in constant tension between the sensory and the essential. Picatoste pursues that delicate boundary where the pictorial becomes an inner experience, reclaiming beauty not as decoration, but as a state of consciousness.

ALTERCHROME encapsulates the maturity of a creator who has made intuition and abstraction his own territory. We are not faced with an accumulation of signs, but with a refined process in which every surface, every chromatic balance, invites us to contemplate painting as an act of revelation.
