ABRAZOS ET FLEURS
06.05.26 - 19.06.26
The embrace is a gesture that precedes words, a form of knowledge born from the body. It is a simple yet profound expression of presence. When two bodies come closer, time stops, an instant of balance.
In this solo exhibition, Eva Claessens engages in dialogue from that suspended space which the embrace opens. She translates it into the softness of her canvases, where figures merge into liquid contours. Her work is an ode to closeness, to the dissolution of two, to surrender.
The artist works from intuition, guided by sensation. In her work, sensitivity becomes a form of knowledge, a way of listening to the world without interrupting it. There is no control or prediction; the work emerges from a state of presence and sustained attention, her hand recognizing the moment when form reaches its state of becoming.
The embrace, in this encounter, is method, language, and architecture. Claessens embraces the skin of the canvas and welcomes silence. A territory is built where form becomes emotion, and emotion becomes form.
Within this same exploration, the purest nature emerges and the embrace becomes flower. For Eva, flowers are manifestations of the same experience, sharing fragility and strength, embraces find in flowers an opening, a delicate expansion for their emergence without resistance.
This exhibition is a conversation created from openness, from the delicacy of the human condition. In their union, painting becomes body, sculpture becomes breath, and art becomes the oldest of gestures: that of embracing, to recognize oneself within and in communion with nature.
